Coaching
Barnsley Judo Club aims to be an evolving and progressive club. We are affiliated to the national governing body, the British Judo Association. Head coach Eddie Newton has over 25 years Judo experience and has been on the British Masters Judo Squad. Our advanced coach Nigel Clynes is a British Masters champion and international medalist. All coaches/Instructors are CRB checked, hold HSE First Aid Certificates and attend Child Protection & Long Term Player Development courses. Our coaches are encouraged to keep up to date with the latest Judo coaching concepts and techniques, and regularly attend BJA excellence sessions. We have a large pool of Coaches with vast experience and we rotate them as often as possible to keep our classes fresh and interesting.
